Getting a copy of the software
The current version of Worship Projector© is v3.12.0304 (20 Apr 2003).
If you have never installed it before, you should download the full installation pack(1771K) and follow the installing procedure in the next section.
NOTE: All the above downloadable files are in the packed zip file format. To unpack the files, you will need an unzipping utility. If you don't already have one, download a copy of WinZip
Installing the software
The software is distributed in a packed zip file. After downloading, go to the directory/folder where the file is saved and double click the file, which will launch WinZip. Click the [Extract] button and specify the temporary installation folder to unzip to (default is c:\temp). When the action finishes, exit WinZip.
Next go to the temporary installation folder specified earlier and run (double click) setup.exe. Before installation starts you will be given the opportunity to specify the destination directory/folder, which defaults to \Program Files\Worship Projector\ on C:). When ready to install, click the large graphic button to proceed.
When installation completes successfully, you can delete both the distribution file and the temporary installation folder as they are no longer needed.
Using the Worship Projector©
Starting Up
To run the Worship Projector©, just click on the Windows [Start] button on the lower left corner, select Programs, then Worship Projector. You can also double click on Projector.exe in the directory where you have installed the software (default is c:\Program Files\Worship). You will see the projection screen like this filling up the whole screen.
Note: You can still access the Win95/98 Start bar by pressing the [Windows] key between the left [Ctrl] key and [Alt] key, or switch task by pressing the [Alt]+[Tab] keys.
The product version and registration info box will show the version number and registration detail. If this is the first time you are running the software, the box will look like the picture shown. You will need to register the software by entering either a trial or a permanent registration code before you can proceed to use it. Contact me and request for a 90 days trial registration code if you don't already have one. If you decide to licence it, please contact me here.
If you have previously entered a trial user registration code, your organization name and the trial expiry date will be shown on the [Registration Info] button. Anytime during the trial period, you can either proceed to evaluate the software or convert to full licence at this stage. On the other hand, if you have a permanent registration code, your organization name and registration code will be shown on the [Registration Info] button instead.
To proceed, click on the [Registration Info] button (or, as the button is currently selected, just press [Enter] or [Space Bar]) to get rid of the product version and registration info box. When you do this, the [Select] button on the Control Bar will be enabled. However, if the trial period has expired or if the registration code is invalid (i.e. does not match the organization name), the program will terminate.
Selecting/Composing a Programme
You start selecting or composing a worship programme by clicking the [Select] button (or, as the button is currently selected, by pressing [Enter] or [Space Bar]), or by typing the shortcut keys [Alt]+[s]. You will then see the worship session composition window displayed.
The all songs box on the left lists all the files available for selection, and the current programme box on the right shows the songs currently selected. A number of types of files are displayed alphabetically in the left box: txt (song sheets or plain text files such as notices, reports), rtf (rich text files with mixed font faces/sizes/colours and clip arts) and, for version 3, htm (multimedia web pages). Double click any file to include it in the current programme.
TIP: You can quickly jump to a particular file by typing the first few letters of its name in quick succession (e.g. type [r] [o] [c] to jump to or near 'Rock of Ages').
Whenever a file is high-lighted in the left box, clicking the [Flick] button (or, as it is the default action button in this state, pressing the [Enter] key) will add the high-lighted song to end of the right box, switch to the projection screen and display the high-lighted song, all in one go. Thus if you are suddenly required to project 'Majesty', you can quickly achieve this from the projection screen by typing [Alt]+[s] (or Clicking the [Select] button), then typing [m] [a] [j] [Enter].
Whenever a song is high-lighted in the right box, clicking the [Show] button (the [Enter] key has no effect in this state) will switch to the projection screen and display the high-lighted song. In summary, [Flick] affects only on the left box, and the rest of the buttons affect only on the right box.
The Song [Remove] button deletes the currently high-lighted song from the programme. The [Up] and [Down] buttons move the currently high-lighted song up or down in the programme. As songs are added at the end, these are used to change the order the songs are displayed.
Once you have the programme exactly the way you want it, use the Programme [Save] button to save it for later use. The Programme [Load] button retrieve a previously saved list into the right box. Immediately following the loading of a programme, the [Show] button becomes selected. Pressing [Enter] or [Space Bar] will start the display from the first song in the programme. TIP: From window explorer, dragging a .prg file and dropping on the Worship Projector© icon has the same effect. In fact, if you register the .prg file type as a Projector file in Windows®, you can double click a .prg file from within explorer and Worship Projector© will launch and automatically start displaying from the first song in the programme. Finally the Programme [Clear] button removes all songs from the programme, effecting a clean start.
Control Bar in the Projection screen
The control bar in the Projection screen controls the stepping through of the programme. If you wish to have more space for projection display, the control bar can be hidden/restored with the Zoom toggle : [Alt]+[z]. There are 2 groups of controls in the control bar: the Song group and the Page group.

The Song group controls the navigation among the songs and shows the total number of songs in the programme and the number of the current song being displayed.
- The [Quit] button terminates the programme.
- The [Select] button modifies the programme.
- You can jump directly to any song in the programme by clicking the current song number box (or by typing [Alt]+[g]), typing a number and then click the [Goto] button (or, as the button is currently selected, by pressing [Enter]).
Thus, [Alt]+[g] [8] [Enter] jumps to the eighth song.
- The [«] [<] [>] and [»] buttons, when clicked, jump to the First, Previous, Next and Last song respectively.
Note: in Zoom mode, these buttons can be activated by [Alt]+[u], [Alt]+[i], [Alt]+[o] and [Alt]+[p] respectively.
Each song can have more than one page if you so wish, e.g. a chorus and 3 verses. Format effecters inserted into the file separates the different pages. //P or //p starts a new page, //C or //c marks the chorus. Take a look at this example, or search my Songsheets Archive. A third format effecters //L or //l signifies that the file is to be displayed left-aligned with 2 tab-indents instead on centered. The number of tab-indents can also be specified by a number between 1 and 9 (default is 2), e.g. //L4
The Page group controls the navigation among the pages in a song. Depending on the format effecters read, the Page group shows a button for each page (max is 1 chorus and 6 pages) present.
- The [C] button displays the chorus page.
- The [1] to [6] button display the pages numbered 1 to 6 respectively.
- The [«] [<] [>] and [»] buttons, when clicked, jump to the First, Previous, Next and Last numbered page respectively.
Note: in Zoom mode, these buttons can be activated by [Alt]+[h], [Alt]+[j], [Alt]+[k] and [Alt]+[l] respectively.
Configuring Worship Projector©
The configuration screen can be called up with [Alt]+[F] keys.
- The projection screen width option defaults to full screen. The square screen is meant for use with square OHP screens.
- The directory list box lets you specify which directory or folder to look up the song files.
- The next option let you decide if the song filename should be shown, and if so where on the screen.

- The next option let you decide whether to include RichText files in the file selection list, and the screen background colour to use with rtf.
- The last option (available in ver.3) lets you decide whether to include HTML files (WebPages) in the file selection list.

- [Alt]+[h][j][k][l] - Enabled in Zoom mode, display the First, Previous, Next and Last numbered page.
Registering the .prg file type in Windows
Download the text file worship.reg(1K) and save it anywhere. If you have installed the Worship Projector© in the defalt directory (i.e. C:\Program Files\Worship Projector\), just double click the file to update the Windows Registry. Otherwise, right click on the file and choose Edit, then change the last line of the file
@="C:\\Program Files\\Worship Projector\\Projector.exe %1"
to reflect you installation directory (note the double slash for directory separator), save it, then double click the file to update the Windows Registry. If all goes well, you will notice that the icons for .prg files had changed, and double clicking on any .prg file will now launch the Worship Projector©.
Registering your copy of Worship Projector©
To enter your registration code, press [Alt]+[R] whenever the product version and registration info window is visible and a registration entry dialog window as shown here will appear. Enter the organization name and registration code EXACTLY as obtained from Antioch (use Copy and Paste to eliminate possibilities of typing error), then click the [Register Now] button. Of course, you can choose not to register now by clicking the [Continue Evaluation] button. Both actions will return you to the Startup screen.
