Edgar's Graffiti Tricks Page

Graffiti is like penicillin to the PDA and pen computing community. It is easy to learn, fast and accurate. But whenever Piloteers gather, conversation ultimately come round to the all time favorite: Graffiti gripes. Every one has a couple.
It is my hope that this page will offer a small measure of relief to those of us looking for the not so elusive 100% accurate stroke. Below is my collection of tricks:

Original Try Remarks
Forget the 2 vertical segments, just write a numeral 3.
Written like the 'less than' sign.
Tom Jansing suggested this alternative. Works every time !
Start from bottom.
Written this way, dot-f gives you a TAB.
Like numeral 6.
I know that's a regular h, but do you know dot-h also give you # ?
Instead of a curl to lower left, write it with a right angle. Do NOT curve upwards or you will end up with a U instead.
Longer horizontal tail greatly improves accuracy.
Like an upward lightning bolt.
A sort of wavy line ~ also works well.
Starting from the bottom eliminates the occasional error.
I can never get this letter right. David Breeding's suggestion works much better.
as in p, faster and more accurate.
Write the number 5 if you have problem with letter s.
Another alternative to s. Remember the logo of the group KISS ?
Think 'Square Root'. The relative length of the 2 up and down segments does not matter as long as the horizontal tail is long.
This is the alternative I prefer, writing from the right to left.
Written in one single stroke, like a mirror image of letter k.
Written this way, dot-y gives you & and Extended-y gives you ¥.
In the number panel this give 8.
Some prefer to write it as a lower case r. Hey, anything to get the job done.
This also yield all derived characters as above.
Ruud Th. van der Ham discovered that he can write 8 this way.

If you have your own tricks and would like to share them, please mail me or post them.
